Publication Ethics

The Journal of Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy (JBCP) is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, transparency, and academic integrity. All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to follow these ethical principles. The journal adheres to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. All sources must be properly cited and acknowledged.
  • Multiple Submission: Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.
  • Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version before submission.
  • Data Integrity: Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review and must retain data for a reasonable period after publication.
  • Conflict of Interest: All financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fair Evaluation: Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance, without discrimination of any kind.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts remain confidential and are shared only with authorized individuals involved in the review process.
  • Ethical Oversight: Editors are responsible for addressing ethical concerns, including corrections, retractions, or investigations when necessary.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or disclosed.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be professional, unbiased, and focused on improving the manuscript.
  • Source Verification: Reviewers should identify relevant uncited literature and report any suspected ethical issues or plagiarism.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts and decline review invitations where necessary.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Ethical Governance: The journal ensures adherence to ethical publishing practices at all stages of editorial and production processes.
  • Long-Term Preservation: JBCP guarantees the archiving and permanent accessibility of published content through secure digital systems.
  • Corrections and Retractions: The journal issues corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when required to maintain academic integrity.

5. Handling Research Misconduct

JBCP takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and unethical authorship practices. In such cases, the journal may:

  • Conduct a formal investigation
  • Request clarification or response from authors
  • Contact relevant institutions or authorities
  • Publish corrections, retractions, or ethical notices when necessary

6. Ethical Compliance Statement

All authors must submit a signed Ethical Compliance Declaration confirming that their work complies with the journal’s ethical standards at the time of submission.
