AI Policy For Authors
The Journal of Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacy (JBCP) is committed to maintaining transparency, integrity, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Authors are required to clearly disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or technologies during the preparation of their manuscripts.
1. Disclosure Requirements
Authors must explicitly report the use of any AI-based tools in their manuscript. This information should be included in the Materials and Methods, Acknowledgments, or Supplementary Information section, as appropriate.
- Name of the AI tool (including model or version)
- Software version and date of usage
- A concise description of how the tool was used (e.g., prompts, queries, or workflow)
2. Permitted Use of AI Tools
AI technologies may be used solely for language enhancement purposes, such as improving grammar, clarity, readability, or translation. The use of AI tools for generating scientific content, creating data, performing analysis, or interpreting results is strictly prohibited.
3. Responsibility of Authors
Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work. AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors under any circumstances. All content generated or assisted by AI must be carefully reviewed, validated, and approved by the human authors prior to submission.
4. AI Use in Figures and Visual Materials
The use of AI-generated or AI-modified images, figures, or illustrations is generally not permitted unless it is an essential part of the research methodology. In such cases, authors must clearly disclose:
- The AI tool used
- The version of the tool
- The specific purpose of its application
The use of AI-assisted tools for generating charts, graphs, or visualizations from original data is allowed, provided that the outputs accurately reflect the underlying data without manipulation.
5. Ethical Compliance and Violations
Failure to disclose the use of AI tools constitutes a violation of publication ethics. Any such breach may result in manuscript rejection, withdrawal of a published article, or further actions as deemed appropriate by the editorial board. The journal reserves the right to screen submissions using reliable AI-detection technologies to ensure compliance with this policy.
